Stonecarver's Shop - late 19th century

Henry Miller, a German immigrant, made his living carving hearths, fireplace mantels, and gravestones for early Naperville residents. It's likely that the limestone that Miller used came from local quarries. Through the early 20th century, quarrying was a major industry in Naperville.
