Trading in Time: Bartering and Buying in the 1800s
This CD-ROM contains the "TRADING IN TIME" computer interactive
game that is in our "Brushstrokes of the Past...Naperville's
Story" exhibit. Players take on the persona of 1 of 7 characters
and buy, trade, barter and sell their way through downtown
Naperville in the 1880s. There are additional levels of
information on historic stores, people and places in Naperville,
and fun historical facts, as well as a photo album with historic
images from the Naper Settlement archival collections. There are
additional features on the CD-ROM that visitors cannot play at
the computer kiosks in the exhibit gallery including:
*shopping or playing a game in a general store
*10 different scenes that can be printed out for coloring book
pages
*additional historical photographs from the museum archives
*a section on Naper Settlement, including a virtual tour of
Naper Settlement
*a section on Naperville's history
*lesson plans for grades K-5 that meet 8 national standards
