1. The stated admission fee is required for entrance to Naper Settlement.
2. Visitors are required to wear shoes in all buildings and on the Settlement grounds.
3. Smoking and consumption of food or beverages is prohibited in all buildings. (Exceptions, for certain special events and functions, can be made at the discretion of Naper Settlement administration.)
4. Access to certain buildings, or areas within buildings, may be limited in accordance with Settlement policy or the events of a particular day.
5. Unless otherwise specified, visitors are not allowed to enter buildings under restoration, or into barricaded areas within buildings or on the grounds.
6. Baby carriages and strollers are welcome on the grounds and in the Pre-Emption House Visitor Center, but are prohibited in all other buildings.
7. Pets are not permitted on the grounds or in the buildings. However, service animals may accompany their owners.
8. Groups of individuals, who fail to respect site property, or hinder the enjoyment of the site by other visitors, will be asked to leave the Settlement.
9. Visitors are welcome to photograph our grounds and building exteriors for their own personal enjoyment. Interior photography is prohibited.
(Note: The Marketing Communications Department, in coordination with the Curatorial Department, handles any public relations photography and videotaping.)
Reproduction or publication of photographs or videotape must be approved by the Settlement's Marketing Communications Department.
The Les Schrader painting collection is under copyright, therefore, no form of reproduction of the paintings is permitted without permission from Naper Settlement administration.
Photographers wishing to use the site for a commercial project (i.e., publicity, sale or advertising) must obtain permission from Naper Settlement's Marketing Communications Department. Only those proposals with a sensitivity to the site, and that comply with Naper Settlement's fee structure and guidelines, will be accepted.
10. Visitors to the Settlement may occasionally be photographed and/or videotaped by the media press or professional photographers. Purchase of an admission ticket to the Settlement constitutes the visitor's agreement to the photography/video and release of any claim to the graphic reproductions or their proceeds.
11. Solicitation of visitors and staff by any unauthorized group or person on the Settlement grounds is prohibited.
